Africa T20 Cup

The Africa T20 Cup has its roots in the tournament launched by Cricket South Africa in 2015 as a platform for competitive T20 cricket, talent identification and development. The original competition featured South African provincial teams alongside African national sides including Zimbabwe, Namibia and Kenya, later expanding to include Uganda and Nigeria. It ran from 2015–2018, with Gauteng winning the final edition.

The proposed rebrand and relaunch represents a move from a South African provincial competition into a truly continental African T20 tournament, designed around national teams, commercialisation, sponsorship, broadcasting, tourism and player development. The Africa Cricket Association is considering an Africa Cup modelled on the Asia Cup, with South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia central to the renewed concept.

The new Africa T20 Cup can become a flagship African cricket property—connecting nations, brands, fans and the next generation of African cricket talent.
